Grab Some Fruits For The Next Makeup Challenge
The rumours are true, I am a weird scarlet-haired combination…
A new obsession for all the glam queens has invaded TikTok. We’re talking about the fruit makeup challenge. Natural makeup can finally be taken in its literal meaning. Putting it simply, fruits are being used instead of makeup products and the results are simply outstanding. You don’t have to read the cosmetic label or check for the price tag anymore. You know exactly what you’re putting on your face and you don’t have to worry about any chemical reaction (except for allergies).
The kickstarter of this trend was the Ukrainian user Maryna Molchanova and now it has turned into a challenge to many beauty creators. So, grab your fruit basket to add a dash of natural glow to your skin! But first, let’s see how they do it:
Banana Liner & Cherry Blush
From charing the stalk of the banana for a cat-eye flick and darker brows to biting a cherry to enjoy its taste and using the other half as a natural blush and eyeshadow. Not forgetting the berry replacing a pretty lip tint.

Fruits might be not the right product to wear on a daily basis, however, the creativity behind the concept of fruit as makeup sure is worthy of appreciation.

If bananas aren’t your favorite, you might also use pears and apples. But, make sure the stalk is cold enough before you use it as it may lead to burns. Also, beetroot extracts more of a pigment punch than cherries do.

Despite the fresh look you get, many commenters have been worried about the sticky mess this way of doing makeup leads to. Getting stung by a wasp might be the last thing you wish for. Food waste is also another problem that many have raised. However, many TikTok trends are not meant to be a substitute for common approaches and are tried only as a temporary challenge.
