How To Whiten Your Teeth Using Baking Soda
I am often struck with the desire to step off…
It has happened to all of us to be envious of someone’s bright smile. And let us be honest, straight, white teeth are something we all strive for. We all want beautiful smiles. Right? Right. Well, the thing is that plenty of products that are part of our daily diet are causing stains on our teeth. Coffee, tea, cigarettes, sodas… These are just some of the elements that contribute to yellow and/or stained teeth.
But, worry not. It is not as bad as it sounds. Yellow and stained teeth can be reversed into beautiful looking pearls. According to Healthline, teeth whitening at home is something we can all pull off as it doesn’t require a lot of work. And one of the easiest and cheapest ways to brighten our teeth at home is with the help of baking soda. I know what you’re thinking: baking soda already has so many uses, but it can be used for teeth whitening as well? Yes, of course. And the best thing? There are plenty of ways we can make use of baking soda for teeth whitening. Here are some of them.
Baking Soda + Lemon
Baking soda and lemon are probably the best remedies for yellow and/or stained teeth. So, you can imagine what powerful properties they have when combined. All you need to do is mix one tablespoon of baking soda and just enough lemon drops to form a paste. Now, if you want to whiten your teeth overall, then what you can do is brush your teeth with this paste. But, if you want to remove a particular stain, then simply apply it onto the stain and let it sit for two minutes. Make sure to thoroughly rinse your mouth after you’re done.
Baking Soda + Hydrogen Peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide has natural teeth whitening properties. Mix one teaspoon of baking soda with 1/2 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide. Then brush your teeth with the paste that they form. Make sure to find a hydrogen peroxide solution that is 3% and won’t cause any harm. After you have brushed your teeth, ensure that you rinse your mouth thoroughly as hydrogen peroxide can be rather toxic if ingested.
Baking Soda + Toothpaste
As we all know, toothpaste is designed to keep our mouth fresh and looking good. However, not all kinds of toothpaste have teeth whitening properties. But worry not, as you can make your own teeth whitening toothpaste. And it is a very easy procedure that we can all do. Place the regular amount of toothpaste on your toothbrush. Then sprinkle some baking soda on top of it before brushing your teeth. In this way, the benefits will be plentiful. You will be making use of the toothpaste’s properties as well as the benefits that come from the baking soda.
However, bear in mind that even if we don’t want to whiten our teeth, we should make it a regular practice to brush our teeth at least twice a day. Maybe we can’t altogether quit the things that are causing stains and/or making our teeth yellow. But we can use one of these teeth whitening methods which will help us maintain a bright smile.
