There are many internal and external factors that contribute to your skin’s health. Internal factors include genes, hormones, diseases, illnesses, and aging. External ones include eating habits, sleeping habits, exercise, exposure to the sun, stress, dehydration and many more. Read on to see what hacks you can use right now for better skin care. Can you guess what the best part about it is? They’re completely natural!

1. Use Tea Bags to eliminate puffy eyes

If you suffer from the tired puffy eyes syndrome, then we’ve got you covered. All you need are two tea bags of green, black or chamomile tea. Put the tea bags in hot water for less than a minute, then let them cool down in the refrigerator. After they cool down, place the bags over your eyelids and leave them on for 5 to 15 minutes. This eliminates puffy eyes because caffeinated tea is rich in natural tannins, which is a mild diuretic.

2. Use Coconut Water to hydrate your skin

Though water is pretty great at hydrating your skin and keeping it moisturized, coconut water is just as good of a substitute. It naturally moisturizes your skin without adding the excess oil. Coconut water is rich in potassium and B-complex vitamins.

3. Eat wild Salmon to prevent sun damage

Salmon is rich in astaxanthin, an antioxidant which is known for its protective traits against harmful UVA. It’s also believed to work with omega-3 fatty acids to fight brain and nerve inflammation. More reasons to add salmon to your diet!

4. Transform red irritated skin into soft nourished skin with Aloe Vera

Due to its high levels of antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and healing properties, Aloe Vera is one of the most nourishing natural plants out there. It also heals skin that has been overexposed to the sun and treats minor cuts, scrapes, eczema and even acne!

5. Replace your toner with Green Tea

We meet green tea again! Not only is green tea great for eliminating puffy eyes, but it’s also great as a toner. Due to its richness in anti-inflammatory, hydrating and brightening properties, it can easily replace store-bought toners. The way how you make it is pretty easy. Steep the tea for 5 minutes, allow it to cool down to room temperature and you’re done! You can apply it on your face using cotton pads or a spray bottle.

6. Get a better complexion with Ylang Ylang flower oil

Ylang ylang oil is good for balancing sebum, in both dry and oily skin types. Its rich anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties make ylang-ylang oil ideal for soothing skin irritations and treating acne. Additionally it has a lovely smell!

7. Use Almond Oil as a cleanser

Many people use almond oil for deep cleansing and acne prevention. Its light texture always allows the skin to easily absorb it and get rid of the accumulated debris which in turn prevent acne breakout. Furthermore, its richness in Vitamin A helps reduce acne flare-ups.

8. Use Tea Tree Oil to eliminate pimples

Research has shown that tea tree oil helps reduce mild to moderate acne breakouts due to its rich antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. However, make sure you’re using diluted tree oil because the undiluted one can burn and irritate your skin. Simply add 1 to 2 drops to your cleanser, serum or moisturizer and you’re good to go. You can apply it two to three times per day.

9.  Freshen up tired-looking skin with Chamomile Tea

Yay, tea again! This time we’ll be dealing with chamomile tea, my personal favorite. Brew a strong pot of chamomile tea and allow it to cool down for 10 minutes. Afterward, put it into an ice tray and freeze it. After it’s frozen, use a thin cloth to cover the ice cube and apply it on pimples, irritated skin, burned skin and puffy eye bags. Apply it only for a few seconds on your chosen areas.

10. Treat dark circles under your eyes with Arnica Gel

Arnica gel is considered to be one of the most effective ways of treating and fighting both regular and chronic dark circles. It’s basically a miracle gel. The reason it works so well is that arnica constricts blood vessels and lymphatic vessels, which in turn decrease the abundance of dark circles. For best results, apply it directly to the affected areas, however, keep in mind that it shouldn’t be used on open wounds.
