Zodiac Signs Change As Result Of NASA’s New Calculations

Some people make important life decisions by analyzing their feeling or using their common sense. Others, however, leave it to the stars. Those are the ones who can’t figure out what they want on their own, so they rely on the magical guidance of astronomy. Obviously, since we belong in this latter group of people, we were somewhat upset when news came that all the dates of the Zodiac signs had been changed. But why?

The first people who came up with the Zodiac were the Babylonians. They created the signs 3,000 years ago, but left one out. Apparently, it was more convenient to use twelve signs instead of thirteen, because that way they fit perfectly with the twelve lunar cycles per year. This, of course, means that all the personality profiles based on our dates of birth have been wrong all along.

For the first time ever, NASA redid the calcululations, and came to the conclusion that things have changed since the times of the ancient Babylonians. The sky of today isn’t the same as it was thousands of years ago, because the Earth’s axis doesn’t point in exactly the same direction anymore. To accomodate the shift of the axis, NASA made some big changes to the Zodiac, that reflect the real periods of time the sun spends in alignment with each constellation. These periods are different for every constellation: for example, the sun points to Scorpio for only seven days, but in the case of Virgo, it’s 45 days. These varying durations were taken into account, the missing sign, Ophiuchus, was put back in, and the dates of all the other signs were moved.

However, NASA immediately pointed out that there is a huge difference between astronomy and astrology. “Here at NASA, we study astronomy, not astrology,” the space agency posted on Tumblr. “We didn’t change any zodiac signs, we just did the math.” What this means, is that classic astrologers are likely to reject this new Zodiac. As for you, only you can decide what to believe in.
