Children of celebrities most often follow their parents’ paths. However, they may also become even more famous and likable. We can say that Willow Smith is on a good track. Remember this cute girl as Will Smith’s date on the red carpet? She is now 16 years old, a true singer, actress, and dancer. Daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinket Smith, she made her acting debut in 2007 in the film I Am Legend and later appeared in Kit Kittredge: An American Girl alongside Abigail Breslin. For the performance, she received a Young Artist Award.
Additionally, she started her music career in the autumn of 2010 and released her singles “Whip My Hair” and “21st Century Girl”. Willow became the youngest artist signing to her current mentor Jay Z’s record label Roc Nation. The video for “Whip my hair” was nominated for Video of the Year at the BET Awards of 2011. Next, she released her debut album Ardipithecus, on December 11, 2015.
She is most certainly embarking on a career of her own.
She was born on Halloween in 2000, as the daughter of Will and Jada Smith. The couple named their kids after themselves: Jaden Smith after Jada Smith, and Willow Smith after Will Smith. Funny, right?
Whipping Her Hair
The song “Whip My Hair” was her most popular achievement. Also, it became a huge hit. It peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Here she is with her home trainer, her daddy. Aren’t they adorable?
Will Smith says that her singing career died off because “Willow chose singing, and then un-chose it.” It seemed like she just wanted to have a more normal childhood and just go to school like a normal girl.
A year after the release of Ardipithecus, Willow Smith self-released another EP. It was called Mellifluous, and the audience welcomed it very warmly.
However, music was not the only passion for her. She also started showing interest in fashion. At the 2016 Fashion Awards, they named her brother Jaden and her the New Fashion Icons. Is fashion the new career path for her? We have yet to see.
