Singer Rita Ora has reportedly lost £2.3 million (about $2.8 million) due to a fraudulent accountant. Wow, I guess that lawyer you had, who charged you $50 for lousy legal advice wasn’t all that bad?
The 26-year-old singer is very popular in modern media, recognizable for her pop music and her cameo in 2013’s Fast and Furious 6. She comes from Prishtina, Kosovo, where she was born, before immigrating to the UK with her family.
Reports say that one of the companies she manages has lost that substantial amount of money after it was taken by the man who “lived like a Saudi prince”, The Sun reports.
Her lawyer, Graham Shear reported: “Rita Ora has multiple business interests globally. One of the companies in which she has an interest is a potential victim of fraud along with several other companies and individuals.
“The potential loss suffered by all the victims collectively is thought to be significant. But only a proportion of that total figure will apply to the entity in which Ms. Ora is one of several shareholders.
