It seems like the ‘Becky’ affair is truly dead and burried. Rita Ora, the main suspect in the well-publicized cheating scandal between her, Jay Z and Beyonce was one of the first celebrities to congratulate the couple on their second baby.
There is apparently no grudges held as literally minutes after Beyonce shared her announcement on Wednesday, Rita shared both the post and her joy at the news on Instagram.
‘YAY!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!! sooooo beautiful!!!!’ the British singer of Albanian origin wrote.
Beyonce wrote ‘We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. – The Carters.’ while posing only in her bra and underwear with her pregnant tummy protruding.
For a short while it was believed Rita Ora was the reason for a crisis in Jay Z and Beyonce’s marriage
In the track ‘Sorry’ from Beyonce latest album Lemonade released last April, the lyrics read:
‘Looking at my watch he should have been home
I regret the day I put that ring on
He always got them f***ing excuses
He only want me when I’m not on there
He better call Becky with the good hair.’
This prompted the so-called Bey-Hive – Beyonce’s fanatical support – to go into a frenzy, with Rita Ora identified as the main culprit for their favorite artist’s troubles.
Ora donning a lemon-printed underwear probably did not help in difusing the speculation
No one knows who Becky really was and Rita was seen sporting a ‘Not Becky’ badge at a Met Ball after-party last year, a gift from Katy Perry by her own admission. She also recently left Jaz Z’s Roc Nation record label and signed a contract with Atlantic Records.
However, she was never reluctant to underline her respect for Jay as someone she looks up to:
“First and foremost, Jay Z is my inspiration and one of my idols – lyrically, musically, business-wise. I still look up to him and his wife every day. Beyoncé was one of my biggest idols growing up,” she told Vanity Fair in September.
Ora admitted being upset at her music being pushed to the backround by unfounded speculation, especially as she does not see herself as any kind of ‘gossip queen’.
Now, with Beyonce and Jay Z appearing happier than ever and Rita Ora joining in the celebrations, it seems like the music can finally come to the fore again.
