Most of us are weak when it comes to desserts like for example a yummy cake. With all the right ingredients you can easily do it on your own, enjoy the sweetness of it and all the while being super proud of your skills. Can it really get more fun than that? Today, we are going to learn how to make a red velvet cake.
YouTube channel, Treat Factory shared with us this amazing recipe to create the moist and fluffy cake. The best part about it is that it doesn’t take that much time, only some basic skills in cooking and you’re done. Let’s get started.
- 113g Unsalted Butter (softened)
- 550g Caster Sugar
- 6 Large Eggs
- 500g Plain Flour
- 4 & 1/2tbsp Cocoa Powder
- 1tsp Baking Powder
- 1tsp Salt
- 480 ml Buttermilk
- 120ml Vegetable Oil
- 1tbsp Vanilla Extract
- 3tsp Red (Gel) Food Colouring
- 2tsp Baking Soda
- 2tbsp White Wine Vinegar
First, beat the butter and sugar until it’s light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time and mix again. In another bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder together. Sieve half of the mixture into the batter. And in yet another bowl, mix the buttermilk, oil, vanilla and red food coloring. When it’s really red, pour the mixture into the batter and mix it.
Sieve the remaining flour mixture and mix it again. Add the white wine vinegar to the baking soda and pour it into the batter. Divide the batter by 3 and pour into 8-inch cake tins. Bake them for 30 minutes and then level the cakes and remove the edges.
- Red and velvet coloring
- Gold lustre dust
- Cream cheese
For the decoration, you need to coat the cake with the frosting then freeze for 30 minutes. Apply a fresh layer of frosting and color the remaining icing. Add blobs around the cake then smooth out to blend in the color. Splatter the sides of the cake with the gold lustre dust. With the leftovers of the cake-crumbs, garnish the outer rim the top of the cake.
