This budding model who became hooked on heroin after falling from an 8th floor balcony in Magaluf has died tragically just at the age of 29. Chantelle Serginson from Middlesbrough recovered after the fall in 2012. She suffered from a broken jaw, two brain hemorrhages and multiple fractures on her legs after falling from the Hotel Marina Barracuda where she was staying with her mother Kimberley and sister Jessica.
Following operations to have poles and pins inserted to her legs, hips and jaw, she made an incredible recovery. But then, she became hooked on heroin to numb the pain and started turning to crime to fund her habit.
She was in jail for 24 months in 2016 for burgling a family home and being a part of a gang that swiped bikes worth more £23,000 from students and hospitals.
When she was released from prison, Miss Serginson turned her life around and trained to be a beautician.
Her mom broke the devastating news on Facebook and tributes have poured in for the 29-year-old known as “Channy Shaker.”
Cherie Louise wrote: “Well woke up this morning to find out that my beautiful cousin had been taken away from us. What a cruel world we live in love you our Chantelle Louise Serginson always and forever.”
Ebs Charville Newest said: “R.I.P to my angel cousin. Life is so cruel love you and miss you so much.”
Georgia Louise Herrington said: “RIP to my gorgeous cousin Chantelle Louise Serginson. Fly high beauty. Thinking of all my family especially Kimberly, Brian and Our Jessica. Love you all.”
Family friend Louise Ingoe described her as a “lovely girl.”
Ms Ingoe, 35, from Coulby Newham, said: “I’ve known the family since I was tiny.
“They are a lovely family and she was a lovely girl, and tragically this has happened to her.
“She was only young and had her whole life ahead of her.
“I remember her as a child, she was lovely and so caring.
“They didn’t know if she was going to survive the fall. She’s been through so much and done so well.”
