Cosplay is an amazing thing. If you’re unfamiliar with the concept, let me fill you in: cosplay is the art doning some pretty serious makeup and clothing to transform yourself into a character from popular media. This could be a TV show, comic book, movie, video game among others. As silly as it might sound, it’s actually a big business. There are people who do this stuff professionally, and they get paid some pretty good cash for showing up at “nerdy” conventions dressed up in some really well done costumes.
One such professional cosplayer that caught our attention is Burbank, California-based Mick Ignis. Check out some of his stand out cosplay work in the gallery below!
A villain character from the Super Mario Bros. games, for those that don’t know.
Some seriously well done makeup and clothing here.
This one is damn well done!
I just wonder how long it takes for the makeup and costume design to be finished.
I’m going to guess quite a while.
A look at how it’s all done:
Looks really complex and time-consuming, but well worth it.
Yes, he can portray a female character too
This character is original, known as the mysterious Tsillah, with makeup done by the talented Akihito Ikeda, as Mick mentions on the Facebook post.
Don’t know who this is…
…But still, the costume and the makeup is amazingly well done!
The Vulture from Spiderman: Homecoming
Can you even believe that this is the same person?
Now this is just outright scary
It’s obviously The Joker, but I would say that this is the Joker if there was ever a Batman or Suicide Squad horror movie.
