There are reports saying that Melania Trump might not take up the role of First Lady. In fact, Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, might instead.
Melania will remain in New York until her 10-year-old son, Barron, finishes high school in New York. For that period, the White House will be without a first lady. There’s now a lot of speculation that Ivanka is eyeing the role, due to rumors that she may be distancing herself from the Trump Corporation. Ivanka currently is the vice president of the company.
“I’m going to be a daughter,” she previously said of her role in her father’s administration.
“But I’ve said throughout the campaign that I am very passionate about certain issues. And that I want to fight for them.… So, you know there are a lot of things that I feel deeply, strongly about. But not in a formal administrative capacity.”
Despite these statements, Ivanka has been present during Trump’s meetings with everyone from Al Gore to the Prime Minister of Japan.
