Marking the 10 anniversary of their TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the family posed for the cover of Hollywood Reporter. After seeing it, these librarians decided that it would be very funny to channel it with a library spin.
“To celebrate, our social media team decided to have a totally impromptu, definitely not planned, photo-shoot.” the staff of Invercargill City Libraries and Archives (New Zealand) wrote in their Facebook post.
“We picked that photo to spoof because it’s iconic and also we thought how funny would that look with ordinary people in it,” Bonnie Mager, the library’s digital and communications manager told BuzzFeed.
“We decided the boys needed to be in the most sexualized positions, for both humor and to show how silly it would be to pose males like that,” Mager said. “The girls just went with who had the most accurate clothing to match those people.”
Their post immediately reached 8,000 likes in a few days and the numbers are pretty crazy for their tiny Facebook page. A lot of publishing companies are already covering the parody and the readers finally made up their mind who wore it better.
“I’d prefer to see the Librarians,” one commenter said. “The librarians win this,” concluded another.
