If you are a fan of the first season of the TV series that broke basically all records, Game of Thrones, then you probably had mixed feelings about the character of Khal Drogo, played by Jason Momoa. Many people detested his brutal ways, but then they fell in love with the actor. The 38-year-old actor, model, director, and producer Jason is, in fact, a sweet loving husband to 49-year-old actress Lisa Bonet. The Hawaii-born actor confessed something adorable about Lisa on James Corden’s Late Late Show and fans’ hearts were melting.
Although the character od Khal Drogo died in the finale of season one, he certainly remained a firm fan favorite. In real life, Momoa seems to be pretty awesome too. Here is an Instagram snap of when he decided to catch up with Emilia Clarke. Aren’t they cute?
Crazy mad insane LOVE for this queen it’s truly like bubbles of giggles are in our bellies when we are together. Outside of the Game of Thrones world, the actor is a happily married man. He has been together with Lisa Bonet for 12 years now. There were rumors flying around that they secretly got married in 2007, but they actually got married just last month, in October.
After the official marriage news, Momoa spoke about it on James Corden’s Late Late Show on Thursday night, November 9. He confessed something adorable about his new bride.
“Finally man,” the Justice League star said about putting a ring on it. “Ever since I was like, eight years old and I saw her on the TV, I was like, “Mommy, I want that one.”
Bonet starred in the Cosby Show, and little eight-year-old Momoa fell in love with his future wife when he saw her on tv. She was 19 back then. So cute!
“I’m like, ‘I’m going to stalk you for the rest of my life and I’m going to get you.’ I’m a full-fledged stalker,’ he laughed. “I didn’t tell her that until we had two babies, otherwise, I’d be creepy and weird.”
“But yeah, [I’d] just always wanted to meet her. She was a queen, always,” Jason was quoted as saying.
They finally met years later through mutual friends at a New York jazz club.
“We just happened to be in the right place at the right time,” he said. “I actually had dreaded my hair for her. I had dreadlocks, she had dreadlocks,” he told Corden.
“I literally turned around and I see her and she goes, ‘I’m Lisa.’ I turned around to my friend and I–” he imitated a scream, causing the audience to erupt with laughter. “I had f****** fireworks going off inside, man,” he said.
Interestingly, at that time Momoa didn’t have a car and he asked Lisa to give him a lift. They ended up at Cafe 101 that night, sharing a few drinks, and a meal together.
“We sat down, she ordered a Guinness, and that was it,” he said. “I beyond love Guinness. We had Guinness and grits and the rest is history,” he added.
This story wouldn’t be that cute if he didn’t admit that he has had a crush on her since forever, right?
