Jennifer Lopez stole the show at last Thursday’s Billboard Latin Music Awards in Miami, Florida by replicating her own appearance at the same event from almost two decades ago. J Lo debuted her new song Mirate, sung in Spanish, at the event, but it was her two stunning different colored, but similarly-revealing gowns, that many still talk about.
The Billboard Latin Music Awards are the Latin music industry’s longest running and most prestigious award, taking place since 1994. The ceremony grew out of the Billboard Music Awards and recognize the artists who have had the biggest sales and most airplay during the previous year according to Billboard magazine.
Fans of the 47-year-old actress and singer will have been delighted with her choice of attire for the evening, as it probably reminded them of a now-iconic dress from a long time ago. Lopez caused quite a stir at the 2000 Billboard Latin Music Awards with a daring green Versace dress which left little to the imagination.
Halfway through the evening, the New York City-born changed into a silver dress in tune with the first one, as she accepted two awards: Social Artist of the Year and the coveted Star Award. Both dresses were designed by Julien MacDonald and reportedly cost around the $38,000 mark in total.
