Someone Made Unnecessary Comments About Her Shape And Her Response Is Amazing

unnecessary

The Internet can often be a dark and scary world for some people. You can get a lot of negative, rude and unnecessary comments that you don’t need in your life. This is exactly what happened to traffic ensemble anchor, Demetria Obilor, when a viewer wrote a post about her body shape. Like, really? Is that necessary?

The viewer who went by the name of Jan, wrote the critical Facebook post about the WFAA anchor’s body shape. She couldn’t help but take to the social media platform to give her (unsolicited) two cents on the frame of the presenter. Why she felt this urge, I’ll never understand, but Demetria, a professional, took it with grace.

The original post has now been deleted, but of course, someone took a screenshot to show it to the world. Chance the Rapper also shared the post.

The post reads: “Has anyone seen Channel 8’s new morning traffic reporter? She’s a size 16/18 woman in a size 6 dress and she looks ridiculous. I understand that when I watch Channel 8 I’m going to get biased reporting and political correctness, but clearly they have taken complete leave of their senses. I’m not going to watch Channel 8 anymore.”

When Demetria saw this, she made a response video on Facebook and it is going viral. She felt the need to speak up after seeing the support from all the people around the world.

Her response read:

“You know, when you look a little different, people think it’s OK to talk to you a little different, and I’m on TV — I can’t clap back how I want to clap back all the time.”

“This is the way that I’m built, this is the way that I was born. I’m not going anywhere, so if you don’t like it, you have your options.”

“We don’t have to put up with this, alright? And we’re not going to.”

This wasn’t the first time she got rude comments as she shared a nasty email that she received from a viewer assuming she smelled bad because of her natural hair. What?

But luckily, she doesn’t let mean comments bring her down, after all she is the one on TV and we applaud Channel 8 for hiring outside the conventional body type. Stop judging, let’s celebrate women and not show hate to them.
