One does probably not expect footage from a bakery to contain anything worth watching, but in this case that could not be further from the truth. CCTV footage from a Panera Bread location in Massachusetts has gone viral and people have been overwhelmed by its cuteness.
The video shows a 3-year-old girl named Lillian befriending a police officer who was dining alone. Upon arriving with her family the girl and her father exchanged a few words with Sgt. Steven Dearth of the Hingham Police Department. Soon, the incredibly outgoing Lillian casually strolled over to Steven’s table, struck up a conversation and soon joined the Sergeant.
“When a new 4-year-old friend we just met wants to sit with us on a dinner break,” the Hingham Police Department wrote in a Facebook post. “A very adorable and very outgoing Lillian with Sgt. Steven Dearth having the best dinner date ever.”
Afterwards, the two newly acquainted friends posed for a photo together and parted ways — but not before Lillian happily received a Junior Police Officer sticker and a future play date was arranged! Sergeant Dearth also showed his appreciation for Lillian’s camaraderie by giving her and her dad a tour of his squad car after they both finished their meals.
The Hingham Police Department has underlined the importance of such bonds being established between the citizens and the police officers who serve them. “It means a lot to Police Officers when people say hi, especially when children approach us,” they wrote in the caption of the photo of Lillian and Steven shared on their Facebook page.
The photo has been liked more than 1,700 with numerous positive comments being posted. One user wrote:
