Good news for 27-year-old Ferne McCann! The English television personality and presenter, who is best known as a cast member of the ITVBe reality show The Only Way Is Essex, gave birth to a baby girl on Thursday, November 2. The reality star confirmed the arrival of her daughter on Instagram, writing, “Welcome to the world my darling. Didn’t expect to see you a week early.” And she couldn’t be happier!
Her TOWIE co-star Gemma Collins also revealed the happy news on Twitter, telling fans, “So emotional right now congratulations @fernemccann on your beautiful little girl.” Although we don’t know anything about the baby girl’s name yet, McCann recently admitted that she was struggling to decide between two options.
“I had a girls’ name but I’ve just thought of another one I like so, if it’s a girl, I’m going to see what the baby looks like and then decide between the two,” she told OK! Magazine.
“I think the name I choose is what people will have the most opinions on and that will bug me, but it’s my decision.”
Ferne’s due date was not until later this month, as she previously told OK!, “I’m due mid to late November,” but the little one decided to make an early appearance in the end. The Essex-born presenter had previously revealed that she was planning to have a hypnobirth with her mum Gilly by her side. The father of the baby, Arthur Collins, is currently standing trial over an alleged acid attack in a London club. Although he and Ferne are no longer together, the 27-year-old does not like being called a ‘single mom’.
She has opened up about preparing to be a lone parent to the media:
“I don’t dwell on how different it could have been. Obviously, there are moments when that does cross my mind, but I’m just focusing on the positives. In life, you’re dealt the hand that you’re dealt, and you actually really surprise yourself with how much you can cope with.”
The television personality also admitted that she doesn’t like being called a single mum as she doesn’t think that her relationship status should define her.
“To me, I’m going to be a mum like anyone else, but just in a different situation. It shouldn’t define you,” she said.
Congrats Ferne, all of your fans are thrilled for you!
