Woman Says Goodbye To Her Eating Disorder With These Shorts That Don’t Fit

shorts

Summer is coming up very soon, which means it’s time to dig through the back of the closet and find your favorite shorts and crop tops, and maybe find and/or pick up a pair of nice sandals or maybe some canvas shoes. I got carried away.

Of course, many of you have probably been in a situation where you find your old shorts from last year, you put them on and… whoops… they don’t fit anymore. This can mean that either your bum has gone bigger or perhaps you’ve lost a bit of weight and they have gone baggy. But, at least according to Alyssa Grace, that shouldn’t stop you from wearing them!

This lady had been suffering from an eating disorder for years and years, and she decided to make a statement in one of her Instagram posts.

The 22-year-old ex-disorder sufferer posted this photo of attempting to fit in her shorts back on April 3, 2017, and the caption on the photo has to be one of the most inspiring I’ve (and you probably you will) read all year.

She wrote:

“To my Eating Disorder.

Oh ED… remember these shorts?

When we were together I lived in them.

I saw them in the drawer and the memories were all too tempting.

They.don’t.fit.anymore.

In the same way you no longer fit into my life.

And the thing is.. you almost had me.

Remembering our life together was painful and… enticing.

Some days I forget that I’m still getting over you.

Here’s the thing.

I don’t want you back.

I don’t want “that” body back.

I don’t want these shorts back.

I’ll find another pair that I won’t have to kill myself to get into next time.”

As with many other people we’ve told you about before, Alyssa encourages body positivity by fully embracing her belly and her cellulite.

Kudos to Alyssa for being brave and amazing to embrace her curves, and more kudos for beating that eating disorder and promoting body positivity!
