It seems like these days people don’t set foot out of their house without their earphones on. Earphones find themselves in all kinds of situations: studying, jogging, reading books and whatever else it may be. Earphones are the greatest invention of all time and it’s simply because they isolate the music on your phone only to you. They let you be alone, you know?
Without getting too deep, I’m sure many of you reading this use your earphones on a daily basis. If you do and you’re a user of the notorious-for-consantly-falling-out iPhone earbuds, good news because you’re about to learn some cool hidden features you may not be aware of.
1. Answering multiple calls
Pressing the center button on the headphones puts the person you’re currently talking to on hold and answers the other incoming call.
2. Skip a song
You can skip а song you don’t want to listen to by clicking the center button twice in quick succession.
3. Playing videos and music
Pressing that center button can also pause and play music and do the same for videos.
Hold down the center button to activate the Siri assistant on iOS.
If you’re in the camera app, the volume buttons can snap a photo for you. Those experienced users will know that this also applies to the hardware volume buttons and not just those on your headphones.
Clicking the button three times rewinds the song back to the beginning. Useful if you just can’t get enough of a certain song.
Double-clicking and holding the center button allows you to fast forward through a song. Helpful if you listen to modern music and can’t be bothered to wait for what the kids call “the drop”.
8. Ignore incoming calls
To ignore an incoming call should you want to, press and hold the center button on the headphones for a couple of seconds.
