The iconic Hollywood Walk Of Fame has more than 2,600 stars honoring the achievements of the greatest in the entertainment industry. Stars are dedicated to actors, directors, musicians, producers, groups and even fictional characters.
This planetary-known attraction spreads down 18 blocks on Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street in Los Angeles, California and attracts millions of visitors each year.
The walk was established in 1958 – almost sixty years ago – but as renowned as it is, there are celebrities who didn’t want their names embedded in the famous sidewalk!

To get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one needs to be nominated.
Hundreds of nominations are sent to the Walk of Fame Selection Committee annually. The Committee is part of the Hollywood Historic Trust that maintains the walk and is responsible for going through the nominations and selecting the star recipients.

A celebrity needs to personally accept the nomination.
If a nomination is accepted by a person or their management team, it is then possible for the honor to be bestowed upon them by the Committee.
