One of the biggest mistakes when redefining one’s body is viewing this process solely through the prism of numbers. As someone who had spent most of their life yoyoing up and down in weight, Californian weightlifter, Adrienne Osuna will tell you getting fitter and healthier is all about recomposition of one’s body.
And in the before and after picture above, the difference in Adrienne’s weight is just 1 lbs. Yes, you read it correctly: one pound.
The 31-year-old had been dieting and ballooning in weight ever since middle school, losing and gaining many pounds over and over with everything from running marathons and binge eating, to giving birth to four children thrown in between.
But once the mother-of-four discovered bodybuilding, she gave up on dieting for good. She says that this newly discovered passion “transformed her metabolism, her shape and her approach to health and fitness”.
Fitness professionals will tell you muscle weighs more than fat, meaning that Adrienne’s toned, fat-free body on the right weighs almost exactly the same as her body on the left.
And the Californian has taken to Instagram to share her incredible story, and to encourage other people who have been struggling with their weight not to give up:
“For all the people that don’t read the post…YES TWO POUNDS. Body recomposition. Lost fat gained muscle! NEGATIVE COMMENTS ARE DELETED AND BLOCKED*. People have been messaging me telling me they’ve seen this pic all over 😬like on Facebook pages and groups, twitter, other accounts here ect. I don’t mind people sharing it!! But I DID NOT use anyone’s products to do this…in fact I didn’t even diet to do this 😂 this was all hard work in the gym lifting heavy weights and intermittent fasting. And for anyone just seeing this for the first time YESSS really 2 lbs, the scale doesn’t measure fat vs muscle! Keep going girls 🙌🏼💖💜|”
