Yeah.

So according to a new study the world’s obsession with men with long hair is truly over. We are entering a new age of shiny-headed wonder. The study that is taken at the University of Pennsylvania discovered that when it comes to hair, the less is more. Or let us say, none is even better.

And yeah, we get it, long hair can be attractive but come on…

Some participants in the study (both male and female) were asked to rate pictures of man according to their attractiveness, confidence and dominance. And in each category, bald men came out the calvous, baldy winners being viewed as more appealing.

Hair was seen attractive in the time of Samson and Delilah and it’s popularity with the release of “Hair”, the 1969 Grammy award-winning musical.  But it wasn’t until the early 90s that Homer Simpson’s near baldness was credited with his normalising baldness.

The study reported that choosing “to dispense with one’s hair is arguably a form of nonverbal behaviour, a form of expression which communicates information about the self otherwise difficult to observe.”

It also concluded that men with bald hair will do better “economically in negotiations,” which is a backed up theory by the success of bald man Lex Luthor.

This new look explains why skinheads are sometimes seen as a little terrifying and why we think that the shaven-headed footballers are as hard as nails. This includes Martin Skrtel, the former Liverpool man and now Fenerbahçe enforcer.

The study also argues that, “instead of spending billions each year trying to reverse or cure their hair loss, the counter-intuitive prescription of this research to men experiencing male pattern baldness is to shave their heads.”
