Ant McPartlin’s wife, Lisa Armstrong, has said she is ‘overwhelmed’ with support after her husband checked into rehab after experiencing problems with drink and prescription drugs. 41-year-old Anthony David ‘Ant’ McPartlin is an English tv presenter, producer, and actor, and has recently opened up about his issues with depression, alcohol, and substance abuse.
The 40-year-old actress, singer, and makeup artist, Lisa, took to Twitter to express her feelings about the situation. She wrote: “Completely overwhelmed by all your love & support it means so much. I’m relieved he’s receiving the help he needs, we just need him better.”

Ant has been battling his condition for over two years, after an operation on his knee left him feeling in constant pain. Then, he began taking painkiller Tramadol and became addicted, which led to concern among his friends and family.
Lisa, who wed Ant in 2006, discovered the extent of her husband’s issues just recently. It was after he broke down in an emotional meeting with her and Dec, reports the Mirror. His I’m A Celebrity and Britain’s Got Talent co-host, Declan Donnelly, also thanked the public for their good wishes earlier today. The duo has a joint Twitter account, where Dec tweeted: “Thank you for all the kind messages and well wishes for the big fella. Your support is, as ever, much appreciated.”

Last weekend on Sunday, Ant spoke to The Sun about his problems and first steps towards rehabilitation. He poignantly explained: “The first step is to admit to yourself you need help. I feel like I have let a lot of people down and for that, I’m truly sorry”.
He was also very emotional about his closest people. “I want to thank my wife, family and closest friends through this really difficult time.”
He added: “I have spoken out because I think it is important that people ask for help if they are going through a rough time and get the proper treatment to help their recovery.”
People believe Ant is currently in rehab in the UK. He needs to spend at least two months in a clinic. And he got immense support from fans, begging him to take as much time as he needs to recover.
The Mirror reported how Dec felt and that he was devastated for his best mate.
A source explained to The Sun about the situation. “For Dec it was a bit of a bombshell hearing about these addiction problems. He had no idea of the full extent of the torment his best friend was going through. It was almost too much for Dec to take in.”
Hopefully, Ant will get better very soon.
