Tears In Everyone’s Eyes As He Sang A Song About His Long-Lost Baby Brother

Christian Burrows, 20, worked as a bartender in a nightclub in Bolton, England when he first auditioned for the X Factor UK.

But when he first appeared on the show back in August 2016, Christian almost didn’t pass the first audition. He sang a John Denver song when he was told by Simon Cowell that it was not good enough.

It was then that the young singer-songwriter decided to sing one of his own songs in public for the first time ever. And what he only sang in front of his mother before, probably changed the rest of his life.

When he sang the first line, “I would do anything, just to be two years old again…”, it was obvious that something special was taking place. The whole atmosphere changed dramatically like with the flick of a switch and Christian’s talent was bursting through for anyone to see.

The song he was performing called ‘2 Again’ was written for his baby brother Nathan, who passed away when Christian was only two years old.

“It’s a song that means everything to me, and only my mom’s heard it,” Burrows said. The song was about his brother Nathan, and the life they could have had together.”

Judge Nicole Scherzinger had trouble holding her tears while listening to the Ed Sheeran-influenced ballad.

“I don’t know how you did that, but I think it was important that you did do it actually because it told me who you were as an artist and actually as a person and you’ve got a real talent,” Simon Cowell said of the performance.

And although ultimately Christian Burrows did not win the 2016 X Factor UK, he undoubtedly stood out as one of the most unique performers in the competition, making the judges teary-eyed on more than one occasion. He has thanked the show for providing him the opportunity to pursue his dream of writing and performing music for a living.
