Don’t you just get super excited when famous celebrities make pregnancy announcements? And they always do that in a super cute way, like social media or holding their tummies at red carpet events.
But what I also adore are women in Hollywood that are strong, independent and let us know that there’s nothing wrong with not wanting to be a mom. Some other celebrities like to focus more in their career and probably find love somewhere else. If you didn’t know them by now, here are the stars who said no to having kids.
1. Jon Hamm
You expected only women in this list? Nope. Jon said that he would be a terrible father so he’s not interested at all in having kids. He doesn’t know how his friends could do it.
2. Renée Zellweger
Well, the beautiful Renée said that she doesn’t need children to define her happiness.
3. Chelsea Handler
Chelsea is definitely never becoming a mom. She says that she doesn’t have the time and doesn’t want her kids to be raised by a nanny. Good point!
4. Jennifer Aniston
When it comes to Jennifer Anniston, we did think we would see her as a mom one day. But right now she wants to focus on her career. Who knows what will happen later.
5. Cameron Diaz
Cameron has never been interested in being a mom.
“I like protecting people, but I was never drawn to being a mother… I’m just what I am. I work on what I am. Right now, I think, things are good for me. I’ve done a lot.”
6. Helen Mirren
When asked about being a mom, she said she probably never became a mother because of a movie she saw in school. That doesn’t change the fact that she would be the coolest mom and grandma ever.
7. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi
When it comes to the famous pair, they are on the same page about not wanting to have children.
“So it’s just going to be me and Ellen and no babies — but we’re the best of friends and married life is blissful, it really is. I’ve never been happier than I am.”
Oprah said that she couldn’t have any children because of her busy career.
“If I had kids, my kids would hate me. They would have ended up on the equivalent of the Oprah show talking about me.”
9. Betty White
Betty White also said that she couldn’t manage a balance between her career and kids.
10. Sarah Silverman
Sarah hasn’t really said a complete no to kids. She just wants them when she could offer them all of her time.
11. Dolly Parton
“I often think it just wasn’t meant for me to have kids so everybody’s kids can be mine.”
12. Rachael Ray
Rachel has a very busy work life and said that she just doesn’t have the time. She often feels bad about her dog too because she isn’t there enough.
13. George Clooney
Even though there were rumors that they are expecting a baby… they still remained only rumors.
“I’ve always known fatherhood wasn’t for me. Raising kids is a huge commitment and has to be your top priority. For me, that priority is my work.”
14. Kim Cattrall
“When I answered those questions regarding having children, I realized that so much of the pressure I was feeling was from outside sources, and I knew I wasn’t ready to take that step into motherhood.” She’s so wise.
15. Marisa Tomei
Marisa takes all of this with positive energy.
“I don’t know why women need to have children to be seen as complete human beings.” And she’s right!
